Nathan is a full-time PhD student at the Association for Dementia Studies, School of Allied Health and Community, 51ÊÓƵ.
Working on the Worcestershire Meeting Centres Community Support Programme , Nathan will be exploring a novel strategic regional approach to scaling-up the provision of Meeting Centres across Worcestershire. It is hoped the project will improve the lives of people affected by dementia across the county and provoke further dissemination of Meeting Centres nationwide.
Nathan’s PhD is part funded by the to which he is very grateful, and supervised by Dr Shirley Evans, Professor Tracey Williamson and .
Professionally, Nathan has occupied a number of roles in the health and social care sector, in areas such as dementia care, mental health services, GP referral programmes, and child protection.
Nathan’s previous research has explored the barriers, facilitators and motives to implementing exercise interventions in long-term dementia care facilities; and the experience of childhood obesity from the perspective of healthy-weight adults. These projects represent two of Nathan’s main interest areas, along with homelessness and penal reform.
