Dr. Nkem Adeleye is a Senior Lecturer in Law at 51ÊÓƵ Law School. She has an LLB (Hons), an LLM in International Human Rights and for her PhD thesis, she conducted a comparative study on the prevalence of the death row phenomenon in the USA and Japan. She has previously worked in immigration law as a Legal Representative and as part of her LLM programme she worked as an intern with the Southern Centre for Human Rights in Atlanta, Georgia. She has over 17 years experience in teaching and research in the higher education sector. Her research interests include the death row phenomenon, international human rights, prisoners’ rights and modern slavery. She has expertise in teaching a wide range of core and optional law modules like equity and trusts, tort law, medical law, public law, international human rights, dispute resolution, commercial law, company law and English legal system.
